PANNONHALMA Tricollis Red 2024
Pannonhalma Archabbey's estate-selection red wine is a delightful Bordeaux blend. This elegant vintage radiates a sense of monastic calm with a playful touch.
Tricollis means "three hills" in Latin, reflecting the origins of the grapes hand-harvested from select vineyards in the Pannonhalma wine region. These grapes are grown in diverse terroirs featuring woodland, clay, sand, and loess soils. The winemaker skillfully marries the native Kékfrankos grapes with Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc to create an easy-drinking, cosmopolitan blend.
On the nose, the wine displays red-fruit aromas, complemented by fine cinnamon spice from oak ageing in small barrels. It has a medium body with primary flavours of cherry and pomegranate, rounded out by notes of vanilla and leather. Soft tannins and a hint of residual sugar contribute to a captivating experience.
